Louise to start exciting new job!

Louise leaves us to take on exciting new job. We’re really sad to see her leave. She has been a great asset to us here at Just and she will be truly missed. She has been a hard working member of the team who has challenged us to always do our best and has been a pleasure to work with. However I’m pleased to say she’s not disappearing completely! She will continue at Just on our board of directors, so we will still benefit from her experience, skills and knowledge and enthusiasm for fair trade.

This is what Louise has to say;

“After four years at Just Fair Trade, I’m off – literally – to pastures new! On Tues 3 May I take up the role of projects and communications officer at the Arthur Rank Foundation, an organisation which helps churches in the countryside to support their communities in practical ways. This is a job that brings together a number of things that are really important to me – leadership development, social enterprise and the church!
I’m really proud to have been part of the Just community for the last four years; it hasn’t always been easy but it has been incredibly rewarding. Highlights have included welcoming fair trade producers Howard and Mohammed to Leicester, building some great links with local schools and faith communities in the city and the county and, of course, working in the shop itself, meeting and getting to know our amazing customers!

Because I think Just is such an important organisation, I won’t be leaving completely; last year I became one of Just’s directors and that’s a role I plan to continue in for some time to come! And, of course, I’ll still be a regular customer!

Thanks to everyone who’s made the last four years so special: my brilliant colleagues, our faithful volunteers, producers like Howard and Mohammed, new friends at many of our suppliers and all the customers who make Just such a unique place to work!”

We wish Louise all the best in her new role, our lost is defiantly their gain!
